When longtime GRC favorite Glen Phillips offered up the best song off his new EP for the mixing, I knew I had to take him up on it.

  1. Great mix! I’m not familiar with any of these songs, unfortunately – save for the great “I Was a Lover” – but this mix sounds blissful. Awesome work! Everything flows so melodically.

When those triplets for “I Was a Lover” kick in… gold. :)

  2. Also – I swear I can hear something resembling the bass line from “99 Luftballons” a few times throughout the song. I can’t tell which song from the mix that’s in though… :(

Thanks man! You should give the Margot album a listen. I think you’d like it. The Cake song is from their first album, which I was really into in high school.

I had to search for 99 Luftballons to figure out what you were talking about but I know this song! I still don’t know which part you’re hearing, though.

Did you see Glen’s contest on Kompoz.com?

  5. Gabe says:

I checked it out, Scott. There’s some great stuff on there. Unfortunately, I’m ineligible because I’m using copyrighted material.
